2018 Capital Appeal

KEEP THEIR VOICE ALIVE

Invest in the future of the Sydney Jewish Museum

safeguard our future

100x3

As time passes there are fewer and fewer Holocaust survivors left to tell their stories of horror and hope. They have been fundamental in the Sydney Jewish Museum keeping the lessons of the Holocaust front of mind for the wider community.

We are especially indebted to the survivors who have volunteered their time at the Museum for many years, sharing their personal stories of pain and triumph and showing new generations about what the terrors of the past can teach us for today and tomorrow.

The money raised in our 2018 Capital Appeal will help us keep the survivors’ stories alive for many years to come.

my invitation to you

For 25 years the Sydney Jewish Museum has helped educate hundreds of thousands of school children and adults alike, on the need to be ever vigilant in keeping the light of humanity bright, and shielding it from those whose actions would extinguish it, by accident or intent.

The Museum is successful beyond the wildest dreams of its founders. They were survivors of the Holocaust – motivated by the imperative of giving meaning to their experiences by educating the young to create a better future for us all.

We are proud of all that the Museum has achieved. In the last twelve months alone, more than 54,000 people visited the Museum, 27,500 of whom were school children who participated in one of our highly respected educational programs.

Our 2018 Capital Appeal is about expanding our programs, and most importantly, about making the Museum economically sustainable, to keep alive the voices of the survivors.

We have had tremendous support from the community, but need to raise $8 million now to keep improving our performance and our long term outlook. I invite you to invest in the future of the Museum, and through it, in our people, our education and our shared humanity.

“It is so important for me as a survivor to pass on the message that the 6 million who were murdered did not perish in vain. That we will remember them and tell our story so these things never happen again.”
